Tomorrow, I’ll be part of Dell’s Windows 7/8.1 Virtual Event Day where Steve Dickson, VP and GM of Dell’s Windows Server Management Solutions and I will deliver a joint keynote session focused on Windows XP’s End of Support deadline on April 8th, 2014 and the business value of moving to a modern operating system.

This all-day Virtual Event is designed for business decision makers and CIOs and will focus on discussing how to speed up the migration process, drive down costs and ease the deployment of a modern operating system.

In addition to the keynote, there will also be experts from Dell and Microsoft hosting live chats and webcasts throughout the day and an opportunity to hear from Dell about the migration and management tools that Dell Software has developed to help you migrate.

My colleagues Chris Hallum and Sarah Haggard will be walking through the latest features and benefits of the Windows 8.1 Enterprise operating system including business tablets experience, enterprise-grade security, BYOD and mobility. And you will also get to speak to Windows 8.1 and Dell tablet experts in the Exhibit Hall.

As part of our ongoing partnership and dedication to helping our customers, we have teamed up with Dell to offer customers free IT Pro Boot Camps that can help you migrate off of XP and evaluate Windows 8.1.

Dell is also offering a jumpstart license of their ChangeBASE software to help you overcome application compatibility challenges in your migration well as well as Fast Forward Migration Services offering to help you migrate off of Windows XP before EOS, which is April 8, 2014.

You can sign up for the Windows 7/8.1 Virtual Event Day here to learn more on how to take advantage of Microsoft and Dell’s new migration service offerings. Attendees that sign up for the free Windows 8.1 IT Pro Boot Camps will also be entered to win a $100 AMEX gift card or Dell XPS 10 Tablet for participating in the webcasts that day.
