Summary
Antivirus exclusions need to be properly configured in a System Center Service Manager 2010 (SCSM 2010) or System Center 2012 Service Manager (SCSM 2012) environment in order to avoid potential performance issues due to A/V scanning operations. To configure the exclusions for your Service Manager environment, you will need to configure the exclusions documented below.

For Service Manager servers
For Service Manager and Service Manager Data Warehouse management servers, configure exclusions for the following process executables/folders:
• %windir%\temp\smtrace
• %windir%\temp\opsmgrtrace
• %programfiles%\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager 2010\Health Service State and all sub-directories
• %programfiles%\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager 2010\HealthService.exe
• %programfiles%\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager 2010\MonitoringHost.exe
• %programfiles%\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager 2010\Microsoft.Mom.Sdk.ServiceHost.exe
• %programfiles%\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager 2010\Microsoft.Mom.ConfigServiceHost.exe
NOTE For Service Manager 2012, the folder to be specified is “%programfiles%\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager”
For Service Manager consoles
For a server or client where the Service Manager console is installed, configure the following anti-virus exclusion based on the process executable:
%programfiles%\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager 2010\Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.UI.Console.exe
NOTE For Service Manager 2012, the folder to be specified is “%programfiles%\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager”
For Service Manager database servers
For SQL Servers hosting the Service Manager related databases, configure the exclusion for the folder containing the data and log files as in the example below:
- • E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data
- • E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Log
Alternatively, you can configure exclusions for the following file extensions:
- • MDF
- • NDF
- • LDF
